Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims & Objectives of the Organization:

The Aim of the Organization is successful implementation of Rural Development Programmes.

2. Mission/ Vision:

   The Mission of Zilla Parishad is to be involved the Panchayati Raj Institution Representatives in Development of the District. The Vision of the DRDA and Zilla Parishad is Coordinated Development of the Rural Area to come up to the standard of urban living status.  

3. Brief History and Background for its Establishment:

   District Rural Development Agency is a Registered Society Registered under the Societies Registration Act. After creation of new District Jharsuguda on 1.1.1994 the District Rural Development Agency, Jharsuguda started functioning from 1.4.1994. The DRDA was created vide Panchayati Raj Deptt. Notification No.4974 dt.25.2.94. Prior to that it was under DRDA, Sambalpur. The Present Body of Zilla Parishad is elected during March, 2007 and functioning since 13.3.2007.

4. Duties to be performed to the Achieve the Mission:

   Implementation of all types of Rural Development Schemes of Ministry of R.D. of Government of India and MPLAD/MLALAD/WODC, Funds Distribution of Regular Pry. School Teachers under Z.P. to Blocks etc.

5. Details of Services Rendered:

Supervision of Blocks and G.Ps in implementation of the Schemes.

6. Citizens Interaction:

All Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) Representatives are involved.

7. Postal of Address of the Main Office, Attached/ Subordinate Office/ Field Units etc.:

District Rural Development Agency, Jharsuguda Sub-Ordinate Office -  Panchayat Samiti, Jharsuguda/ Kolabira/ Kirmira/ Laikera/ Lakhanpur.

8. Working Hours both for Office and Public:

10.00 A.M to 5.00 P.M.

9. Public Interaction, if Any:

Public grievances are received on Saturday from 10.00 A.M .to 1.00 P.M.

10. Grievance Redress Mechanism:

Through field enquiry and enquiry report from the field functionaries.
