Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (I)]

1. Objective/ Purpose of the Public Authority:

a. Registration of Coop. Societies through O.C.S Act, 1962.
b.
Inspection of Coop. Societies.
c.
Enquiry on Allegation and Petition and Grievances from Chief Minister.
d.
Settlement of Disputes arising between members and Society, Office Bearers and Society etc.
e.
Winding up at Coop. Societies.
f.
Execution of awards, decrees orders and decision.
g.
Review of decision.

2. Mission/ Vision Statement of the Public Authority:

     The Mission is the upliftment of the financial condition of the poorer people of the District of Puri through registered Cooperative Societies by way of financing short term medium and long term loans.

3. Brief History of the Public Authority and context of the formation:

     The Clerk started functioning in the year 1945. The Assistant Registrar of Coop. Societies is the authority of the circle. Till now 33 A.R.C.s have worked in the circle . The Office was formed on the context of development of Cooperative movement in the district of Puri.

4. Duties of the Public Authority:

The following are the duties of the authority.

a. To take step for Registration of Coop. Societies .
b. To promote self help among the member of the Societies .
c. To conduct inspection of Societies .
d. To dispose dispute cases arising between the society and its members/ employees.
e. To take up execution proceedings of the orders passed in dispute case.
f. To conduct the election to the Committee of Management of the societies.
g. To take action for winding up of the societies which incurrs loss for consequitive 3 years of not doing it's business according to the Cooperative Principle.

5. Main Activities/ Function of the Public Authority:

The following are the duties of the authority.

6. List of Services being provided by the Public Authority:

     The authority is meant for the upliftment of financial condition of the members of the Coop. Societies through Government programs. For that purpose it works for the development of the Coop. Societies and conduct the service

7. Inspection of records of Societies :

     Motto is to see whether the public fund is properly utilised or not and also see whether any irregularity is occurred or not.

8. Stock Verification:

Annual verification of stock of society is conducted.
