Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aim & objectives of the Organisation:
To keep close watch on the functioning of 4 circles under this divisions and issue suitable instructions as a friend, philosopher and guide to strengthen the cooperative movement in the State.
2. Mission/ Vision:
To supervise the work of 4 circles namely, Puri, Bhubaneswar, Khurda, and Nayagarh and advise the officials to fulfill the needs and of the members of different types of Cooperative Socities Act 1962 and to ensure instructions of the Directorate.
3. Brief History and Back-ground of its establishment:
Prior to concern of this Divisions, Circle offices were supervised by the D.R.C.S., Cuttack Divisions and as per decision at Govt. level this Divisions was established in the year 1978 to ensure better and smooth functioning of the Circle officers for the interest of the societies as well as its members.
4. Organisation Chart:
This Division office though created during 1978 its office was functioning at Bhubaneswar in a rented houses. Subsequently during the year 1980 the office was shifted to Puri. New the office is functioning in the composite building on the back-side of the BNR hotel. In this building, office of the Puri Division, A.R.C.S., Puri and A.A.G.C.S., Puri is functioning. One Govt. quarter is available which is meant for the A.R.C.S., Puri.
5. Allocation of Business:
To conduct annual inspection, annual stock verification of societies, inquiry on grievance petition etc. and to take up hearing of cases filed under section 68 of the O.C.S. Act. The D.R.C.S., Puri has also been declared as the registering Authority for registration of Co-operatives under the Odisha self help Cooperative Act 2001.
6. Duties to be performed to achieve the mission:
To supervise and guide the Circles functioning under the Division as per the guidelines issued by the R.C.S., Odisha and Govt. of Odisha.
7. Details of services rendered:
i) The D.R.C.S. Supervises the function of Circles and acts as the 1st Appeallate authority under RTI Act 2005.ii) The SARCS pested in this office acts as a group officer for Executive Sections and also performs the duties as public information officer for the office.

10. Grievance Redressal mechanisim:
Prompt and timely action is taken for redressal of grievance petitions received from different persons and forwarded by higher authorities.
