Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

Objective/ Purpose of the Public Authority:

     District Information & Public Relations Officer is a person who acts as a link between the I & PR Department of Government of Odisha and the concerned District. The DIPRO reports about the entire activities of the District which are the reasons for successful implementation of all the policies and plans. It also makes the plans and policies people-oriented.

Mission / Vision Statement of the Public Authority:

    In its mission to inform, educate and entertain the people, this public authority acts as a catalyst of change. Disseminating information and gathering feedback on the implementation of developmental programmes, it attempts to improve the standard of living of the target public by assessing their information needs and undertaking simultaneously a plan of action. It also seeks to elicit public cooperation towards the process of development.

Duties of the Public Authority:

  Applying print, electronic, folk, audio-visual and oral media this public authority shoulders onerous responsibility to design, develop and execute information campaigns to achieve its mission.

Main Activities/Functions of the Public Authority:

  It gathers information from the entire District and then report to the Department of Information & Public Relations of Government of Odisha.

Expectation of the Public Authority from the Public for Enhancing its Effectiveness and Efficiency:

  The Public Authority expects from the public that they should involve themselves in all types of oral communication approaches. They should participate actively in all sorts of programmes and functions that take place in their Districts.
