Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. History & Background of its Establishment:

Testing Laboratory, Balasore was established in the year 1990 under the Directorate of Export Promotion & Marketing, Odisha, Bhubaneswar, under Industries Department, Government of Odisha.

The post of Senior Scientific Officer is declared as Head of Office. The main aim to establish this laboratory is to render testing services to the Small Scale Units, Government & Semi Government Organizations, Public Sector Undertakings, Inspection Agencies and Project Implementing Authorities etc in and around the districts of Balasore Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak and Keonjhar. Multidisciplinary testing facilities are provided to the SSI Units for testing of their products for quality checking as per the Indian Standard Specification. Pre Delivery Inspection, Post Delivery Inspection and Inspection for Registration and Renewal are being conducted as and when required.
