1) Aims & Objective of the Organization:
The aims & objective of District Industries Centre, Nuapada is to promote small scale industries, Handicraft units, cottage and Village industries and to assist the entrepreneurs/ artisans/ industrialist of the district for obtaining finance from different financial institutions, marketing assistance, Entrepreneurship Development Training, raw materials, IDCO Land and Shed as well as benefits under different Industrial policy Resolutions (IPRs) from time to time.
2) Mission/ Vision:
The mission & vision of D.I.C Nuapada is to:
a) Generate employment and uplift the economical status of the inhabitants of the district by setting up Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises.
b) To provide employment in Industry, service sectors through Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) scheme.
3) Brief History & Background for its Establishment:
The District Industries Centre, Nuapada has been functioning from 01.01.2000 onwards for all sorts of assistance i.e. financial assistance, marketing assistance, Govt. land and shed Raw-material, project reports and profiles, Entrepreneurship Development Training, different technical know-how etc under one roof.
4) Duties of the Public Authority:
To uplift the economical status of the inhabitants of Nuapada district and to provide employment opportunity by establishment of Small Scale Industries, Ancillary units and to provide self employment through PMEGP Scheme, R.H.A Scheme and Craft Village Scheme. The General Manager, DIC, Nuapada has been taking effective steps to fulfill the target under different schemes through Block level Industries Promotion Officers.
5) Main Activities/ Function of the Public Authority:
The Industries Promotion Officers posted at Block level are responsible for identification of entrepreneurs/ artisans and providing them necessary assistances for preparation of scheme/ project reports, forwarding their registration applications, loan proposals to DIC Nuapada. The IPO (Hd. Qtrs), KVIB Supervisor (Class III employees), posted in the office of DIC, Nuapada Head Qtrs. are submitting their files to the General Manager, I/C DIC, Nuapada for final disposal.
6) Details of Service Rendered:
The D.I.C, Nuapada have assisted the industrialists/ entrepreneurs, artisans by providing them scheme, project profiles, Project Reports, Technical know-how Entrepreneurial Development Training, Skill up gradation training Marketing assistance, assisting to obtain from different Financial Institutions, raw materials and Govt. land & sheds.
7) Organizational Structure:
The District Industries Centre, Nuapada is headed by the General Manager, who is a Class-I Officer under which D.C.I.O/ Asst. Manager in the rank of Class-II, and Industries Promotion Officers (Class-III employees) at Block level are functioning and assisting in different promotional activities i.e. SSI Sector, handicraft sector, Cottage & Village Industries Sector & Coop, societies (Ind) Sector. At Present , the Asst. Manager, DIC Nuapada is functioning as In-charge General Manager of the DIC since 01.11.2010.
