Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. Aims and Objectives of the Organization:
The aims and objectives of District Industries Centre Rayagada is to promote small scale industries, handcraft units, cottage and Village industries and to assist the entrepreneurs/ artisans/ industrialist of the district for obtaining finance from different financial institutions, marketing assistance, Entrepreneurship Development Training, raw materials, IDCO Land and Shed as well as benefits under different Industrial policy Resolutions (IPRS) from time to time.
2. Mission/ Vision:
The mission & Vision of D.I.C Rayagada is to:
a) Generate employment and uplift the economical status of the inhabitants of the district by setting up Small Scale Industries.
b) To provide self- employment in Industry, service & business sectors through Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP Scheme.
3. Brief History & Background for its Establishment:
The District Industries Centre, Rayagada has been functioning from the Year 1990 on bifurcation of DIC Koraput, Jeypore in order to provide all sort of assistance I.e financial assistance, marketing assistance, govt. land and shed Raw- material, project reports and profiles, Entrepreneurship Development Training, different technical know- how etc under one roof.
4. Duties of the Public Authority:
To uplift the economical status of the inhabitants of Rayagada district and to provide Employment opportunity by establishment of Small Scale Industries, Ancillary units and to provide self employment through PMEGP Scheme, R.H.A Scheme, and Craft Village Scheme. The General Manager, DIC, Rayagada has been taking effective steps to fulfill the target under different schemes through Asst. manager and Block level Industries Promotion Officers.
5. Main Activities/ function of the Public Authority:
The Industries Promotion Officers posted at Block level are responsible for identification of entrepreneurs/ artisans and providing them necessary assistance for preparation of scheme/ project reports, forwarding their registration applications loan proposals to DIC Rayagada. The Industry Supervisor, IPO (Hd. Qtrs), KVIB supervisor, Jr. Asst. (KVIB), Bee-Keeping field man, posted in the office of DIC, Rayagada head Qtrs. Are submitting their files through Asst. Manager (CI) to the General Manager, DIC, Rayagada for final disposal.
6. Details of Service Rendered:
The DIC, Rayagada have assisted the Industrialists/ entrepreneurs, artisans by providing them scheme, project profiles, project Reports, Technical Know-how Entrepreneurial Development Training, Skill up gradation training Marketing assistance, assisting to obtain from different Financial Institutions, raw materials and Govt. land & sheds.
7. Organization Structure:
The District Industries Centre, Rayagada is headed by the General Manager, who is a Senior Class-I Officer under which Manager/ D.C.I.O in the rank if Jr. Class-I, Asst. Manager in the rank of Class-II and Industries Promotion Officers (Class-III) at Block level are functioning and assisting in different promotional activities I.e. MSME Sector, Handicraft Sector, Cottage & Village Industries Sector & Coot. Societies (Ind) Sector. At present the post of Mangers are laying vacant in this district.
