Objective / Purpose of Public Authority

1. Objective/ Purpose of Public Authority: The Objective / Purpose of Directorate of Export Promotion and Marketing are to: i) To register reliable local MSMEs with their product & quality from which purchases can be made by Govt., Semi-Govt. office either through open, Rate contract or inclusive purchase.ii) To promote quality & standardization of products manufacture / at MSME Sector by the way of inspection & testing of products in Testing Laboratories.iii) To provide third party inspection services for quality assurance to the purchasing organizations.iv) To Facilitate export promotion in the State.v) To extend marketing support to MSEs in Govt. procurement through E.P. & M. rate contract and as a member in the Purchase Committee Meeting held above the district level.vi) To redress the grievances of MSEs in connection with payments & other bottlenecks with purchasing organization. 2. Mission /vision Statement of the Public Authority: Our Mission is to promote quality of products manufactured at MSME Sector to make it globally competitive and to provide marketing support to local MSMEs in Govt. Procurement through E.P. & M. rate contract and to facilitate export promotion the State. 3. Brief History of Public Authority & Context of its Formation: The Organization started functioning in the name of State Purchasing Organization during 1963 and to later designated as Directorate of Export promotion & Marketing. 4. Duties of Public Authority: (i) Promotion of Export activities in the state.(ii) Marketing assistance to the MSEs provided by the way of Registration of quality store items for purchases by Govt. & Semi- Govt. Deptts.either through open tender or through Rate contract or through exclusive purchase as per the provision laid down in IPR. Collects statistical data of Government purchase and complies annual export date of the state.(iii) Promotes quality of stores manufactured at MSE Sector by way testing the raw materials, components and Industrial products in Testing Laboratories of this Directorate.(iv) Assures quality of stores supplied to Govt. Deptts and agencies under control of govt. by way of pre-delivery / inspection and post Delivery/ inspection.(v) Participates as a member in the purchase Committee meetings of the different Government department / agencies above district level to protect the interest of MSES. 5.
