Particulars of Organisation, Function & Duties

Odisha Khadi & Village Industries Board, has been set up by an Act named as the Odisha Khadi & Village Industries Board Act 1955 (Odisha Act 8 of 1956) assented by the Governor on 15th February 1956 for organising developing & regulating the Khadi & Village Industries in the State of Odisha.
The State Govt. by notification has established for purpose this Act a Board to be called" Odisha Khadi & Village Industries Board a body Corporate in Corporate by its name with perpetual succession & common seal and may sue & be sued in its corporate name.
Board consist of 15 number of members, both Official & non-official including the President& Secretary to be Nominated by the State Government.
The duties of the Board is to organize develop and Regulate Khadi & V.I. in the State of Odisha & perform such Function as the State Govt. may prescribe from time to time, to provide employment through Coop. Societies, institutions on" the various schemes implemented by the K.&V.I. Commission), and to establish training Centre, to train people of state and to make publicity for popularising the K&VI Products.
