Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

Objective/ Purpose of the Public Authority:
The objective/purpose of this ULB (Public Authority) is to provide basic Amenities to its citizens utilizing its income sources derived from Taxation and Govt. grants.
Mission/ Vision :
The mission/vision statement of the Public Authority is very clear so far providing basic amenities to the public is concerned with an expectation from the public (rate- payers) to co-operate with the Public Authority in terms of timely payment of dues of the Public Authority and other duties as and when notified or published through public media.
Brief History of the Public Authority and Context of its Formation:
The Public Authority was established in the year 1876 consisting of 31 Wards, comprising 19.43 Sq.Miles in area.
Duties of the Public Authority:
It is the duty of the Public Authority to look into the health, sanitation and overall wellbeing of its inhabitants on the face of the resources Available with it.
Main Activities/ Functions of the Public Authority:
The main functions/activities of the Public Authority are to collect revenue and utilize the same towards public health, sanitation, conser-vancy, convenience, education and other deve-lopmental works.
List of Services Being Provided by the Public Authority with a Brief Write-up on them:
List of services provided include lifting of garbage, cleaning of roads and drains, street lighting, construction and maintenance of roads, drains, culverts, dispensing medicine to the poor, relief measures during calamities, entertainment through public parks and gardens, Community Centers, Kalyan Mandap etc.
