Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

Objective/ Purpose of the Public Authority:
The main objective is to ensure systematic & planned Development of the area coming under Angul Municipality, Cleaning of the town, Provision of street light, supply of drinking water etc.
Mission/ Vision Statement of the Public Authority:
To maintain the town in a planned manner.
Brief History of the Public Authority and context of its Formation:
The N.A.C. was constituted as Notified Area Committee under the provision of Bihar Odisha Municipal Act 1892 and thereafter was converted to Notified Area Council w.e.f. 1.8.1955 vide Notification No.510/dt.l6.6.1955.This N.A.C was constituted comprising of village Hulurisinga, Baniabahal and part of village Raniguda and Turanga Jungle. The N.A.C. has been converted into Smaller Urban Area i.e. Municipality vide Govt. Notification No.16159/HUD dt.l1.06.08. This Municipality has been divided in to 23 wards.The total area of this Municipality is 19.24 Sq. kms. and its population is 38,022 as per 2001census.
Duties of the Public Authority:
Construction & repair of road, drain, provision of street light, cleaning of road, drain etc., supply of drinking water, Imposition & collection of various taxes & fees for its development.
Main Activities/ Functions of the Public Authority:
List of Services being provided by the Public Authority with a brief write-up on them:
a) Construction & repair of road & drain inside the Municipal area.b) Cleaning of road & drain inside the Municipal area.c) Shopping Complex comprising 609 shops at various places of Angul Town.d) Construction of shopping complex comprising 25 nos shops at Milan Market complex.e) Provide 2 nos. of water tanker for water supply and 01 no. cesspool for cleaning of safety tank.f) Provide 4 nos of Tractor, 01 no. Mini Truck,02 Nos. Auto Tripper for disposal of garbages.g) Provide 18 nos. Tricycle for door to door collection of Municipal Solid Waste.h) Installation of new fittings and repair of street light.i) To give loan to BPL holders under USEP(S), training to BPL holders for their skill up gradation, Giving subsidy to BPL Women group under DWCUA(S) to access to employment opportunity to strengthen their economic condition, Giving financial assistance to T & C Society as revolving fund for better economic condition

Expectation of the Public Authority from the Public for Enhancing its Effectiveness and Efficiency:
Public co-operation is basically required for various developmental works and also to abide the Rules and regulations of Angul Municipality while constructing their infrastructure so that the Municipality shall be developed in planned manner.
The council represents for public.
