Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

1) Aims and objectives of the Organization:

     In order to ensure planned development of Cuttack Development Area, the Cuttack Development Authority was created as per the provision of Odisha Development Authority Act, 1982 and the main objective of such authority is to be taken up as follows:

i) Preparation of Development plans including zonal development plans.
ii) Undertake of works  pertaining to construction of housing colonies, shopping centers, markets, industrial  estates and provide public amenities.
iii) It will regulate development and use of land including private land.
iv) Undertake schemes for improvement and clearance of slums and redevelopment programmers.

2) Mission and Vision:

     The erast while GCIT (Greater Cuttack Improvement Trust ) was converted to Cuttack Development Authority with effect from 1.9.1983 as per the H & U.D. Dept. Notification No. 37633/H&UD/Dt.31.8.1983 comprising of area of Cuttack Municipal Corporation, Choudwar Municipality and other adjoining 37 mouzas. A draft CDP (Comprehensive Development Plan) submitted by NT. Khadagpur taking into Vision 2030, has been sent to Govt. for approval.

h) Paribahan Market Complex at Jagatpur, Cuttack.
i) Chicken Market at Buxibazar, Cuttack.
j) Market Complex in Sector-6,Bidanasi, Cuttack
k) Shop-cum-office Complex at plot no. 360, Sector-6, Cuttack

4) Duties Performed:

     The main duties of the Authority are to promote & secure the development of all or any of the area comprised in development area concerned accordingly to plan and for that purpose Authority shall take power to acquire, hold, manage & disposal of land property, to carry out building with supply of water & electricity, disposal of sewerage and other services and amenities & generally to do anything (including controlling development & coordinating developmental programme of related agencies) necessary or expedient for purposes of such development and from purposes incidental thereto;
