1. Objective/ Purpose of the Public Authority:
The office of the Executive Engineer, PH Division, Rourkela with 4 Sub-Divisional offices located at Rourkela, Sundargargh, Joda & Keonjhar under the immediate control of Superintending Engineer PH Circle, Sambalpur and administrative control of Chief Engineer PH (U) Odisha, Bhubaneswar is in-charge of repair & maintenance of the existing Urban water supply schemes & implementation of new water supply schemes to provide drinking water to Urban populace in general & the water supply consumers in particular.
2. Duties of the Public Authority:
The Junior Engineers holding the charge of the Sections under the control of different Sub-Divisional offices are responsible for attending the maintenance & repair works with the field staff employed for the purpose to provide water supply to different areas of the Urban Local Bodies in a phased manner which is being closely monitored by the Asst. Engineers in charge of the Sub-Divisional Offices (PH) of 4 PH Sub-Divisions at Rourkela, Sundargarh, Joda & Keonjhar. The Sub-Divisional officers keep close watch on the maintenance & repair works as well as in implementation of new water supply schemes which are being inspected by the Executive Engineer, to see technical soundness of the works executed under his jurisdiction.
