1. Aims And Objectives Of The Organization:
To look after the health, sanitation, water supply, roads, safety and public convenience of the citizen of the urban inhabitants. This includes improvement and up-gradation of the socio-economical status of the Urban Poor's.
Local self Government under the statute consisting of the local people as representatives to the Council for carrying out the functions as provided under the Odisha Municipal Act / Rules, for the public health, safety and convenience of the citizens of the town.
3. History and background for its establishmentinformation on biramitrapur municipality, in a nutshell:
Biramitrapur Municipality started functioning from 18.02.1960 as NAC vide govt. notification No.1190/MK-CV-7/59 IGS/dated 18.02.1960. It was subsequently converted in to a Municipality vide govt. notification No.24012/Ud dated 30.12.1969 with the area of 25.64 sq. kms. The municipality consists of 11 wards and five no. of revenue villages with the population of 29434 as per census. The name of revenue villages as a under.

4. Organisation Chart:
The Biramitrapur Municipality is the head of the Department as per Rule 428 of Odisha Municipal Rules, 1953. The Chairperson is the head of the Department.
The Executive Officer is the Controlling Officer. The following sections work under this Municipality.(a) General Office Establishment including bills and budget headed by a Senior Assistant.(b) Public Works section: - The Junior Engineer is heads this section comprising One DLR .(c)Tax Section: - Tax Daroga of the section head & 11 Tax Collector work under this section.(d) Sanitation: One Sanitary Inspector is kept in charge of supervision of Sanitation work. He supervises the work of 22 Sweepers, sanitation section to supervise the work of Sweepers. 4 no. of Tractor, 3 water tanker of the Municipality, lift the garbage of the town.

As per the provision of Odisha Muncipality Act 1950 and Odisha Muncipal Rules-1953.

One Junior Assistant is the in charge of public grievance. A register has been maintained for compliance of the grievances.
