Aims and Objectives Of the Organization:Urban Planning through preparation of Master Plan and to make provisions for Development, Improvement & expansion of town keeping the present & future Conditions as per provision of OTP & IT Act.
Mission/Vision:To carry out the purpose of the Act.
Brief History and Background for its Establishment:The Balasore Regional Improvement Trust, Balasore came into existence w.e.f. 2nd October 1995 vide Notification No.30982/HUD Dtd.15.09.95 Of H & U.D. Department by up grading the standard & status of the earstwhile Special Planning Authority, Balasore, constituted vide Govt. in H & U.D Notification No.23308 dt.28.07.1978 in order to develop planned & systematic way of urbanization in general & partricularly in town areas, comprising of residential, commercial, industrial & institutional sectors.
In pursuance of Govt. in H & U.D.Department Notification No.17768/HUD,dtd.23.06.2012,I the Collector & Dist.,Magistrate, Balasore assumed the charge of Chairman, Balasore Regional Improvement Trust, Balasore with effect from 27th June’2012 F.N. in addition to his own duty & Er.Bhagabat Jena, has been discharging the charge of Secretary, BRIT since 08.10.2010F.N.
Allocation of Business:The day to day Official businesses are being followed as per provision of the Act.
Duties to be Performed to Achieve the Mission:As assigned by the Odisha Town Planning & Improvement Trust Act, 1956.
Details of Services Rendered:(A) Preparation, variation & revision of Master Plan.(B) Planning for utilization & disposal of Govt. land as per OGLS Rule, 1983.(C) Regulation of building.(D) Implementation & monitoring of Schemes under Centrally Sponsored & other urban development schemes.
