Aims & Objectives of the Organization:
To look after the health, sanitation, water supply, roads, safety and public convenience of the citizen of the urban inhabitants. This includes improvement and up-gradation of the socio-economical status of the Urban Poor's.
Mission/Vision:
Local Self Government under the statute consisting of the local people as representatives to the Council for carrying out the functions as provided under the Odisha Municipal Act/Rules, for the public health, safety and convenience of the citizens of the town.
History & Background for its Establishment:
The Chowdwar Municipality was first constituted as N.A.C. during the year 1958 as per Govt. notification No. 6879 dtd. 4.10.58. and subsequently converted to Municipality in the year 1969 vide notification No. 20101 / HUD dt. 10.11.69. The detailed position of the Municipality is stated below:

This Municipality is coming under Tangi - Chowdwar Thahasil as well as Choudwar- Cuttack Assembly Constituency of Cuttack District.
