1. Brief History of the Public Authority:

     Odisha Home Guards organization is a voluntary organization both in character and concept. It is governed as per guide lines and instruction contend in Odisha Home Guards, Act and Rule 1961 & 62 and compendium of instructions of Home Guards published by Govt. of India in M.H.A, New Delhi. Commandant General, Home Guards Cuttack Act as a head of office. Presently the organization is running with 15708 Home Guards and 435 Paid Staff in the State out of this 470 H.G and 20 paid staff in Keonjhar District.

    Home Guards are auxiliary to State Police are rendering valuable service to the society. The services of Home Guards have been appreciated both by public and press in last super cyclone and high floods.

     The motto of Organization is "Niskam Seva".
