1. Brief history and Background of the Establishment:
To fulfil the enormous thirst of education of a poorly shaded undeveloped area of Jharsuguda district, this college was founded in 1992 by the selfless effort of its local people. It was named as Dwarika Prasad Agrawalla College after the downer and well wisher Mr. Dwarika Prasad Agrawalla from Laida. This college got its concurrence and Affiliation in the year 1992-93. After getting Block- Grant in the Year 2009-2010 this college came to known as Dwarika Prasad Agrawalla Junior College, Bagmara.
2. Aims and Objective:
Basically this college aims at educating the weaker section of area which constitute about more than half of the population of this locality
3. Strength of the College:
The college was started from a small student strength of 64 in Arts faculty in 1992 having subject strength MIL-64, English-64, Political Science-64, History-64, Odia -64 and Education-32 with the kind consideration of the Educational department, Odisha the strength raised from 64 to 128 in subjects MIL, English, Pol. science, History, Odia and upto 64 in Education subject. Again the strength of Education subject increased upto 128 from the session 2008-09. The college received 40% Block Grant in the Year 2009-10.
4. List of Services being Provided by the College:
i) Besides imparting Education, with the help of its students this college has been creating an awareness about the environmental pollution and deforestation through Ec- - club created in 2000. ii) The College has been improving the cleanliness awareness in its locality through various programmes organized by NSS.
5. Main Activities / Functions:
The College has been functioning as a lamp of culture for this rural underepment area since its establishment in 1992 and managed by a dynamic management committee. The teaching and non- teaching staff of the college are always devoted to their duties and responsibilities assigned to them as a result the passing percentage of the students are satisfactory each academic year. Above all this institution is fully committed to its aims and goals and taking good care of students.
