1. Brief History and Background of the Establishment:
Begunia College, Begunia,Dist-Khurda has been imparting education successfully for the last 33 Years. It is located only 1Km.away towards south of Begunia on National Highway 224. The College being situated in an eco-friendly atmosphere covering an area of 46 acres has highly qualified and potential teaching faculties, well-equipped laboratories,excellent library and advanced computer centre.
It was established in the year 1978 as a product of great interest and determined effort of late politician comrade Gangadhar Paikaray, the then M.L.A. and some enthusiastic people of the locality in order to meet the educational needs of the youths of this region. The College primarily started as an Arts College, which has later developed to full-fledged Degree College with Science and Arts stream imparting teaching facilities in Honours (Arts) subjects. The College is affiliated to C.H.S.E., Odisha and the Utkal University, Vanivihar, Bhubaneswar. It is also affiliated to U.G.C. under its 2F(7) clause Govt.of Odisha has been pleased to open Govt.Vocational Junior College and to run +2 Vocational course simultaneously from the session 2005-06 with a view to producing middle class skilled technicians having some job prospective.
The College is distinguished from other Institutions in respect of its healthy tradition and glorious culture. The College illuminated in the region as well as the state ideals of education and discipline.
