Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1) About the Organization:
The Office of the Civil Surgeon, Ganjam was reorganized as Office of the Chief District Medical Officer, Ganjam, which has been functioning since 01.05.70 vide resolution No.10899/H dated 30.4.1970 of Govt. of Odisha, H&FW Dept., Bhubaneswar. After re-organizing, the Public Health, Medical and Family Planning wings are coming under the control of Chief District Medical Officer, Ganjam.
2) Functions and Duties:
At the time of re-organizing there were three officers in Sub Divisional level designated as Sub Divisional Medical Officer and ADMO (Med.) for Sadar Sub Division. Besides it there were Twenty two Block level PHCs where the Medical officer in charges were the Head of the Institution and answerable to CDMO for the health activities in their respective blocks.
At present the following officers and health institutions are functioning under the control of CDMO, Ganjam:

He is responsible for the works as assigned in resolution No.15281/H dated 29.5.1975 & No.18508/H dated 8.6.1982 of Govt. of Odisha, H&FW Dept. in addition to this he is the supervising, administrative and executive head and responsible for implementation of all health Programes like NRHM, RNTCP, NVBDCP, NLEP, AIDS etc. in the distinct. He is also acting as District Registrar of Birth & Death. He is also the Member Secretary-cum-Vice Chairman of ZSS, Ganjam.

He is responsible for the works as assigned in GO NO. 15281/ H dt.29.5.75 No.18508/ H dt.8.6.82 of H&FW Dept. Odisha, Bhubaneswar. He is the Deputy Superintendent of City Hospital and responsible to look after day to day activities and development of DHH including DDO.

He is responsible for the works as assigned in GO No.15281/H dated 29.5.75 of H&FW Dept., Govt. of Odisha, Bhubaneswar. He is the Nodal Officer of Malaria, Leprosy, Filaria, Filaria progarmmes & AIDs and Register Birth & Death.

He is responsible for the works as assigned in GO No.1528i/H dated 29.5.75 of H&FW Dept. Govt. of Odisha, Bhubaneswar . He is the Nodal Officer of FW & Immunization activities. Nodal officer for NRHM
