1. Aims & Objectives of the Organization :

    The office of the Chief District Medical Officer, Cuttack deals with medical and public health matters including drug control and prevention of food adulteration as well as Family Welfare programmes aimed at population stabilization consistent with the requirements of Economic growth, social development and environmental protection. The main objectives of this office is to provide adequate, qualitative, preventive care of the district not only through allopathic system of medicine but also through Indian system of medicine (AYUSH system). It also ensures to provide affordable quality health care services to all, particularly to the disadvantaged groups and greater access to primary health care by bringing medical institutions as close to the people particularly in the underserved, backward and tribal areas.

2. Mission/ Vision :

    The main motto of the office is "Health for All". It aims to facilitate improvement in the health status of the people of Cuttack district with their participation and to make available health care in a socially equitable, accessible and affordable manner within a reasonable time frame, creating partnership between the public, voluntary and private health sector and across other developmental sectors.

3. Main Activities/ Functions :

    As delineated in the Odisha Govt, Rules of Business including instructions of Govt. from time to time.

a) Reproductive and child Health programmes.
b) AIDS control programmes
c) Leprosy Elimination
d) Control of Blindness

e) Malaria/ Filaria control

f) Iodine Deficiency disorder control

g) Panchabyadhi system

h) Universal Immunization programme
i) Janani Surakhya
j) Indian System of Medicine
k) Homeopathic system. 

l) I.E.C activities.
m) Drugs Control Administration
n) State Drugs Management
o) Disease surveillance system.
