1. Name of the Public Authority:

Deputy Director of Agriculture.

O/o Deputy Director of Agriculture, Kandhamal, Phulbani

Deputy Director of Agriculture.

4.  Parent Govt. Dept.:

Agriculture Department.

5. Reporting to which Office:

Director of Agriculture & Food Production, Odisha, Bhubaneswar

6. Jurisdiction:

Kandhamal district.

7. Objectives:

a) Formulation of strategies for increasing production & productivity of different crops grown during Kharif and Rabi in a year.
b)
Co-ordinate all the line department officers of the Dist. level for successful
Implementation of Agriculture programmers in the district.
c)
Prepare plan and programs for conducting different trials and demonstrations at
adoptive Research farm.
d)
Attend & participate different meetings organized at District as well as State level.

e)
Monitoring & guiding the extension workers in their field works.

8. Functions:

a) Act as principal Agriculture officer of the Range
b)
Supervise the works of all subordinate Offices.

c)
Implementation of ongoing scheme like, Work Plan, ISOPOM, State Plan, R.K.V.Y.,
NFSM (Pulses, Rice), Support to State Extension program for Extension Reform in the district.
d)
Monitoring, supervision and implementation of different normal Agricultural
programs as well as state & central sector schemes operating in the district.
e)
Supervise the Bi-weekly training program of VAWs/ LVAWs, Conduct monthly
S.M.S workshops, District Agriculture Officers conference & different farmers oriented Training program, in the district for creating awareness among the farmers for Adoption of new technologies.
f)
Monitor in producing quality seeds in Govt. seed multiplication farms as well as
Farmer's fields under seed village program for supply of quality seed to the Farmers.
g)
Monitor timely input supply such as seed fertilizer etc to the farmers of the District.

h)
Act as controlling officer of all class II Gazetted & non-Gazetted Officers ,Class III &
Class IV grade staff working in the district.
i)
Act as disciplinary authority for both Class II & Class III grade of staff.

j)
Review the performance appraisal report (PAR) of Group 'B' officers.

Office Timing- 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. & 7 A.M. to 1 P.M. in Summer

Weekly holidays & specific service times- Sunday.

11. Job chart of Subject Matter Specialists:

Imparting training to field extension staff, making field visits and being trained by the Resource Personnel identified by the Odisha University Agriculture and Technology and being exposed to Research are the basic activities of the subject matter specialists both at the Range and Agricultural Sub-district level.
