Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

1. The Aims and Objectives of the Organization:

The main activities of the Soil Conservation, Sub-Division will be:

(i) Soil & Water Conservation
(ii) Soil Erosion Control Measures
(iii)Prevention of shifting cultivation
(iv) Execution of Watershed Activities

The Sub- Division will be in-charge of the following item of works:-

(i) Tree Plantation including plantation of Cashew, Coffee, Sisal, Sabai, Misc. Tree Plantation, Avenue plantation etc
(ii) Development of pasture
(iii) Soil Conservation Demonstration Centre.
(iv) Soil Conservation Measures such as contour bunding, Field bunding, Nala bunding, gully control structure, water harvesting structure, Diversion Weir, stream bank erosion control, farm ponds, silt retention dams, bench terracing, stone terracing.
(v) Maintenance of existing plantations and farms developed by the Soil Conservation Organization.
