Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1) Aim and Objectives of the Organization:
The main activities of the Soil Conservation Officer, Sonepur will be:
i) Soil & Water Conservationii) Soil & Land Capability Surveyiii) Soil Erosion Control Measureiv) Prevention of shifting cultivationv) Training of Soil Conservation personnel
2) The Asst. Soil Conservation Officer, Sonepur will be in-charge of the following items of Work:
i) Tree Plantation including plantation of Cashew, Sisal.ii) Development of pasture.iii) Soil Conservation Demonstration Centre.iv) Testing and amelioration of Soil.v) Soil Conservation Measures such as contour bunding, Field bunding, Nala bunding, gully control structure, Water harvesting structure, Stream bank erosion control, Farm ponds, Silt retention dams, Bench terracing, Stone terracing.vi) Maintenance of existing Sisal and others farms developed by the Soil Conservation Organization.
