Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]

The Main Activities of the Asst. Soil Conservation Officer, Bolangir will be:

  1. Soil & Water Conservation.
  2. Soil & Land Capability Survey.
  3. Soil Erosion Control Measure.
  4. Prevention of shifting cultivation.
  5. Training of Soil Conservation personnel.

The Asst. Soil Conservation Officer, Bolangir will be in-charge of the following items work:

  1. Tree Plantation including plantation of Cashew.
  2. Development of pasture.
  3. Soil Conservation Demonstration Centre.
  4. Testing and amelioration of Soil.
  5. Soil Conservation Measures such as contour bunding,Nala bunding , gully control structure, water harvesting structure, stream bank erosion control, farm  ponds, silt  retention  dams, bench terracing, stone terracing.
  6. Maintenance of existing farms developed by the Soil Conservation Organization.
