1. Objective Purpose of the Public Authority:
The Range Office headed by the Senior Horticulturist, started functioning on 22.07.1978 at Kalinga, G.Udyagiri, Phulbani with an aim to supervise the horticultural activities undertaken by subordinate offices headed by Horticulturist/ Asst. Horticulture Officers in the undivided districts of Phulbani (Kanahdmal & Boudh)& Bolangir (Bolangir & Sonepur).The office was transferred to the district headquarter (Phulbani) in the year 1996 and is presently supervising the works of Horticulturist/ Asst. Horticulture Officers of Kandhamal and Boudh districts.
2. Mission/ Vision:
The main aim of this office is to co-ordinate, co-relate and co-operate between the field offices and the state/ district headquarter for timely execution of all horticultural activities that has been entrusted by the authority for sustainable horticultural development of the range. In addition to it this the office also supervises the quality of work.
3. Details of service rendered by the Department:
(i) To disseminate technical know - how .(ii) To keep liaison with other line department, District-Administration and Banking Institutes on Horticulture-activities for development of farming community.(iii) To ensure timely execution of work(iv) To ensure the quality of work
